In addition to normal audits, Lotus Capital subjects itself to a regular Shari'ah review of operations carried out by an independent Shari'ah Advisory Board. This review certifies that no funds are used for prohibited activities and also guides the development of new products and services. The members of the Shari'ah Advisory Board are Islamic scholars well versed in Islamic laws, principles and traditions relating to trade, finance and economics. The Shari'ah Advisory Board confirms whether, in their opinion, current and proposed investments are acceptable from an Islamic perspective.
