Omobola Akande leads the firm’s legal, regulatory, Shariah advisory and corporate governance functions.

She has advised on a range of significant Islamic finance transactions in Nigeria including the country’s debut sovereign and sub-sovereign sukuk issuances and the establishment of Nigeria’s first Shariah compliant equity index, exchange traded and fixed income funds. Her industry experience includes serving as Secretary of the Fund Managers’ Association of Nigeria.

She is admitted to the Nigerian bar and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and MBA from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. She is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and has participated in several management and leadership development programmes.
